“The ”6th World Health Tourism Forum and Conference“ is being hosted by the TRNC. In his speech at the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel said, ”While we are proud of the tourism and education sectors, we have also brought health tourism to the desired level.".
The World Health Tourism Council's “6th World Health Tourism Forum and Conference” is being hosted by the TRNC with participants from more than 50 countries.
The meeting, which is held in the country that chairs the Council as a matter of tradition, takes place in the TRNC due to the fact that Dr. Ahmet Savaşan is the President of the World Health Tourism Council.
Ahmet Savaşan will hand over the presidency to the new president who wins the election among the three candidates from Moldova, Germany and Saudi Arabia.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu and Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova also attended the opening ceremony of the Forum and Conference at Limak Hotel.
ÜSTEL
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel expressed his happiness to host the delegates and representatives of World Health Tourism who came to the TRNC after long hours of travel and waiting times.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel noted that while rejoicing at the point reached by tourism and higher education, which are the locomotive sectors of the country's economy, they have also brought health tourism to the desired level in a way that will contribute to the country's economy.
Prime Minister Üstel stated that they are doing their best in the infrastructure works for health tourism to go further.
Pointing out that the TRNC is not well known in the countries of the delegates coming to the country for the Forum, Üstel said that it is a source of honor and pride for them to bring the guests together with the culture, historical natural beauties and soft climate of the TRNC.
Reiterating that health tourism in the TRNC has reached very good points, Prime Minister Üstel invited the delegates participating in the Forum and business people in their countries to invest in the TRNC in this field. Üstel said, “Our door is open. We show and will show the necessary ease for investments. While we are proud of the point tourism in TRNC has reached and being the ‘island of education’, we have also brought health tourism to a very good point.”.

ATAOGLU
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu stated that Ahmet Savaşan, who chaired the Council for a year, waved the TRNC flag in the best way possible.
Ataoğlu stated that as someone who knows the process from the beginning, he was very happy today and thanked the delegates who came to the TRNC despite traveling and waiting times of 25-30 hours.
Stating that they talked about the TRNC's history, culture and climate of more than 10 thousand years in the meetings they attended, Ataoğlu stated that they brought these beauties together with the guests today.
Underlining that they are proud of the hospitals in the health tourism journey, Ataoğlu said that people from many countries are living in the TRNC by buying houses.
Ataoğlu stated that the delegates who came to the country with long journeys will be worth it and that they will say “I wish I had come earlier” when they see the beauties of the country.
BEROVA
Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova underlined that the TRNC is located at the junction of Africa, Asia and Europe and is one of the most convenient points in terms of accessibility to health tourism.
He noted that the sun and warm climate prevail in 350 days out of 365 days in the country and that these features are facilitating factors in health tourism activities.
Pointing out that the rapid development of tourism and hotels is also an advantage in terms of health tourism, Berova said that there is a potential of 60 billion dollars in world health tourism and that this potential will increase even more over time.
Berova stated that health tourism will be one of the most important sectors in terms of economic resources in the country in the coming years and said that the TRNC and the government attach great importance to this field.
CAKMAK
Emin Çakmak, Founding President of the World Health Council, explained the establishment process of the Council.
Çakmak said that until 2013, the world health tourism was guided by an association in the USA, and seeing that this association could not guide the health tourism of the whole world, they established the World Health Tourism Council with 13 founding countries in Monaco in 2013 and started to guide the world health tourism.
Çakmak stated that the Council has gained an international identity and today they have reached 58 member countries.
Çakmak stated that they have come a long way for the TRNC to be accredited to the international organization
Çakmak emphasized that the World Health Tourism Council is experiencing its most active year under the presidency of Ahmet Savaşan and that a promotion that could not be realized even if hundreds of millions of dollars were given for the TRNC.
WARRIOR
Ahmet Savaşan, President of the World Health Tourism Council, stated that industry leaders, academics, health and tourism professionals and policy makers come together at the Forum and Conference hosted by the President of the Council every year.
Savaşan said that he is very excited and happy to host the 6th ’World Health Tourism Forum home Conference“, which is being held in the TRNC, and to determine the strategies and policies that will shape health tourism globally.
Savaşan stated that he was honored to be organizing the Forum and Conference in his country as the TRNC.
Savaşan noted that health tourism has been rising rapidly in the international arena in recent years and has strategic importance for many countries.
Savaşan said that during the Presidency of the World Health Tourism Council, they acted with the mission of creating impact by putting health and welfare at the center, and that they attached great importance to innovation and cooperation.
Savaşan stated that the theme of the “6th World Health Tourism Forum and Conference” was innovation and cooperation in global health tourism.
Savaşan stated that the TRNC, which is the pearl of the Mediterranean with its beautiful climate, 10 thousand years of historical richness and cultural heritage, provides qualified education in many fields to more than a hundred thousand students from a hundred countries, and has reached a point where it can host tourists four times its population with its touristic facilities.
Savaşan added that the TRNC is making its name mentioned more and more every day in health tourism.
